Sloths: While sloths, as the name suggests are slow creatures, dozing almost about 18 hours, are hung inverted from the fierce twigs of trees. Found in the interiors of Amazon, these creatures resemble clomp of flora. The commonly found sloths include the Brown throated three-toed sloth.
Ant-eaters: The creature is not to be confused by the size of its prey by any means. Spotted easily in the Savanna region of Cerrado, this being has a potential to grow easily over more than 2 m! The ant-eater receives nourishment by feasting daily on 35,000 ants alone! Bon Appetite, we say! Not alone to this mega bellied thing, but even to the gourmets on board! The giant-eater makes for a costly affair on the palate, which makes it a threatened species.
Tapirs: Resembling a mini horse, tapirs weigh almost about 300 kg. Typically found straying around muddy areas, these are the creatures of the night and reticent in nature.
Marsh Deer: Deers always offer a friendly paparazzi to the tourists and very few people go without a gaze at them. The star of the deer herd in terms of size is the Marsh Deer, with its head fear branching out as long as 60 cms. There are several other more types from the deer family that are spotted around the area of North Amazonia like the Gray Brocket Deer, Red Brocket Deer etc.
Peccaries: These animals are behaviorally accustomed to a group culture and therefore seldom found straying alone. Peccaries share their resemblance with wild pigs, while talking about their physical attributes, the creature is about 1 meter long weighing almost 20 kg. White Peccaries are over-sized than the usual members of the family, and draw a peculiarity larger group size and by treading over anything that obstructs their royal march.
Raccoons: Found in the Amazonia and the Pantanal, the raccoons always tend to be in close proximity of water, as they survive mainly on creatures of water like fish, mollusks and crabs.
Coatis: Coatis are the more easily spotted animals bearing resemblance with a dog. These carnivorous creatures are furry and more distinctively characterized by its long brownish yellow colored winding tail.
